The first volume of the collcted original comics of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the new Punisher TV series and volume one of Garth Ennis’ Punisher comics has ignited a long-dormant fascination with comic books. What follows, therefore, is my current Comic Book Wish List – ever subject to change – always to expand. And just in time for Christmas!
Volume One: The Name of the Game
Volume one of The Punisher MAX is the first of Garth Ennis’ work I’ve read but, having since discovered a great deal of praise for it, I’ve concluded that this is the next of his that I have to read.
The Long Halloween
I love Batman. This is a graphic novel I need to read.
When I was about 13 or 14, my uncle six years my senior showed me a glimpse of Lobo. a glimpse was all I’d get because, apparently, it was far too dark and violent. Well, ever since I’ve wanted to read some of the stories of these depraved alien bounty hunter. This collection, dropping in January 2018, appears to collect all the original issues, including the fantatsically-titled Paramilitary Christmas Special in which Lobo is hired by the Easter Bunny to assasinate Santa.
I came across this in Waterstones years ago. It looked beautiful then and it looks beautiful now. It also seems to have received overhwleming critical acclaim.
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Complete Collection Volume 1
I haven’t actually seen the second film yet; but I loved the first and would enjoy reading the source material.
Complete Case Files v1
I just should, right?
Krazy and Ignatz, 1916-1918
Many, many moons ago, when I would visit my great nan’s on a Wednesday afternoon after school, I would eat a refrigerated Milk Way and sip at a cup of tea whilst watching Krazy Kat. Many, many moons later, I found a copy of that animated series on DVD. The original comic strips, it turns out, are over 100 years old. I’ve wanted to read this for a long time: I will, and I cannot wait to do so.
