‘Prelude’ – a poem

Prelude

that gilded moment when
we both…

the eternity before then

two longings unfurled
four lips like fortunes
gasp, clasp and curled

as a vessel may sway
its hips into the bay
a gentle, rocksteady motion
before it plunges into the ocean

of that gilded moment
