‘Lighthouse’ – a poem

Lighthouse

There truly is so much and perhaps
there truly can never be enough:
Like a crescent calls out to pierce the night,
We can but try
In a sea of darkness,
You are a lighthouse shining bright
I am broken-hearted; burdened with broken wings, but
Your love lets me know that there is more to this life
than that which hath departed:
It is because of you that these coarsened cords still sing,
And the melody you gift is nothing short of captivating:
You, my love, are fascinating.
No longer do I feel destined to the discordant and dissonant:
You, sweet girl,
You are magnificent
